Create Your World

Hi everyone! Today I have one of my CHA card samples to share with you. This was displayed in the Sizzix booth and features TONS of new products from Tim Holtz. I have to tell you, this Sizzix release has some of the most exciting and innovative dies and Texture Fades I think I've ever seen. Here's a quick breakdown of how I created my card.

The background was created by embossing manila cardstock with the new Blueprints Texture Fade. I inked it with Weathered Wood, Bundled Sage, and Brushed Corduroy Distress inks. I layered it onto a torn panel of the new French Industrial paper and then onto kraft cardstock, trimming the bottom with a strip of black Kraft Core'dinations that was cut using the Washer Border die. Finally, I added some of the new Elements Tissue Tape (love!!) along the edges.

It's so hard to pick a favorite from the idea-ology release, but I think these ring fasteners are close to the top of my list! Here, I threaded it through a Sprocket Gear and attached it to my card. I added one of the new Tag Labels and a Swivel Clasp. I think these are going to be a definite must-have for me!

The Pocket Watch Frame die is another one of my favorites. The exciting thing is that it's a Movers and Shapers die, so you can cut shapes out of the center. For this element, one of the Sized Circles Movers and Shapers was placed into the center when cutting the chipboard, creating the perfect frame for my watch. I stacked four of the watch frames and glued them together. I painted them silver and antiqued with black (my go-to metallic technique). The background paper is from the new French Industrial collection. I stamped the guys from the Stampers Anonymous Steampunk collection and added some of the new Remnant Rubs and some Sprocket Gears and Mini Gears. The 'glass' on the watch is recycled plastic packaging. Wouldn't this make a cool shaker card?!
